It said the vessels used U.S.-person services while transporting the Russian-origin crude oil. The cap bans Western companies from providing maritime services, including insurance, finance and shipping, for Russian seaborne oil exports sold above $60 a barrel, while seeking to keep oil flowing to markets. “Shipping companies and vessels participating in the Russian oil trade while using Price Cap Coalition service providers should fully understand that we will hold them accountable for compliance,” Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo said in the statement.

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — The death toll from severe flooding in central Greece rose to 10 people Friday, while another four remained missing, the country's civil protection minister said. Rescue crews in helicopters and boats ferried hundreds of people from inundated villages to safety. Flooding triggered by rainstorms also hit neighboring Bulgaria and Turkey, killing a total of 22 people in all three countries since the rains began Tuesday. In Greece, the rainstorms turned streams into raging torrents that burst dams, washed away roads and bridges and hurled cars into the sea. Authorities have said some areas received twice the average annual rainfall for Athens in the space of just 12 hours.

CNN —More than 800 people have been rescued over the past two days from severe floods in Greece, local officials said, after extreme rainfall turned streets into deadly rivers, tore down buildings and bridges and left whole villages submerged. The rainstorms also hit neighboring Bulgaria and Turkey, killing at least 16 people across the three countries, including six in Greece. The downpour has lasted days, but is expected to weaken from Thursday afternoon, according to Greece’s meteorological service. Wildfires ravaged northern Greece for a fifth consecutive day on Wednesday and forced the evacuation of settlements on the outskirts of the capital, Athens. The authorities said they were battling scores of blazes around the country after weeks of searing heat turned many areas into tinderboxes. “It is the worst summer for fires since records began,” said Vassilis Kikilias, the civil protection minister. Grecia a anunţat sâmbătă că închide şcolile primare, precum şi grădiniţele şi creşele până la sfârşitul lunii din cauza înmulţirii cazurilor de coronavirus. Din cele 1.143 de paturi de la unităţile de terapie intensivă disponibile în ţară, vineri erau ocupate 830. Începând de vineri seară, a fost impusă o interdicţie de ieşire din casă între orele 21.00 şi 05.00. Ţară cu 10,9 milioane de locuitori, Grecia a înregistrat 997 de decese şi 69.675 de contaminări de la începutul pandemiei la sfârşitul lui februarie, majoritatea dintre ele fiind semnalate în cursul ultimelor patru luni. Regiunea cea mai afectată este oraşul Salonic, al doilea din Grecia, situat în nord, unde 32% dintre locuitori au fost testaţi pozitiv.
